Mr Miguel Vasquez

Miguel is an Attorney-at-law and Partner at the law firm, M. Hamel-Smith & Co. He has been in practice for almost ten (10) years, having built a distinguished practice in corporate commercial litigation and dispute resolution, tax and legal planning, and the establishment of operations in Trinidad and Tobago, including in the maritime sector.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of the West Indies, a Legal Education Certificate (LEC) from the Hugh Wooding Law School, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Tax Law from King’s College London, and is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Associate with the Financial & International Business Association.

In addition to his legal practice, Miguel is an Author and Correspondent for IBFD, one of the world’s pre-eminent and independent providers of cross-border tax expertise, a member of the Legislative Committee of the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association, and a member of the Rule of Law Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce of T&T. He has authored numerous publications on corporate law, conducted seminars and conferences on various legal topics and issues, and has participated in several live televised legal discussions since 2023.
