
Michael Razack is the Deputy Director and Project Manager at the Maritime Technology Cooperation Centre (MTCC) Caribbean, hosted by the University of Trinidad and Tobago. He specializes in maritime decarbonisation, greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation, energy efficiency, and sustainable shipping practices, with expertise in both technical and policy domains.
He has managed and delivered on major international initiatives, including the EU-funded Global MTCC Network (GMN) Project (Phase I & II), the IMO–Norad TEST Biofouling Project and the IMO CARES Project, as well as several regulatory and technical studies. His portfolio covers pilot demonstrations of low- and zero-carbon technologies, emissions data analysis, capacity-building workshops, and policy briefs/guidance.
Alongside his project leadership, Michael lectures on Sustainable Shipping at UTT, mentoring students and regularly represents the MTCC Caribbean in high-level international fora on shipping decarbonisation, climate resilience and maritime climate action.
