Jason-Leigh Ayong is a distinguished maritime professional with over 30 years of experience across the global shipping and logistics sectors. As Group Manager – Business development at Chan Kong Holding Limited (CKHL), he plays a key role in building strategic partnerships and delivering practical, high-impact solutions in a complex, evolving maritime marketplace.

Throughout his career, Jason-Leigh has not only witnessed the transformation of the shipping industry but has lived it firsthand. He worked through the era when shipping documentation was entirely paper-based and experienced the industry’s transition into the modern digital age, gaining hands-on operational insight during this evolution.

His professional journey spans multiple phases of the industry, where he has seen companies close, new companies emerge, and global carriers grow and consolidate. From legacy lines such as P&O Nedlloyd to new global carriers like ONE, and other modern alliances, Jason-Leigh has experienced these changes firsthand within the industry.

Over the years, he has built and continues to build strong professional relationships with principals, captains, operators, and charterers under tanker trades from across the globe. He is dedicated to ensuring high operational standards within the maritime sector and advocates for the consistent application of ISO standards across industry practices.

He earned the Advanced Diploma in Port Agency from the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers in 2013. In 2025, he further strengthened his strategic capabilities by earning an MBA in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the University of Bedfordshire (UoB) and achieving the Certified Associate in Project Management  (CAPM)® designation from the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Known for his mild-mannered personality, strong ethics, and integrity, Jason-Leigh is widely respected in the industry. He is always willing to share his knowledge and experience with those entering the shipping profession.

He continues to maintain his Boarding Clerk Licence and remains committed to promoting productivity, high standards, and sustainable growth in the shipping industry. He also serves as a representative on the Shipping Association of Trinidad and Tobago (SATT) and is a member of the PMI Southern Caribbean Chapter.
